About JPN-Journal.com
JPN-Journal.com
JPN-Journal.com
is an online news aggregator and provider of legal information to foreigners working in Japan.
Working in Japan poses difficulties for foreigners due to inaccessibility of information regarding employment, visa, tax and other legal issues related to working in Japan.
JPN-Journal.com is devoted to increasing accessibility to these information.
Every business ultimately comes down to making money; JPN-Journal.com is no exception. Our business is quite simple: deliver relevant and high quality information to foreigners already working in Japan or wishing to work in Japan, increase visitor traffic, and earn advertisement revenue.
Our managers are all professionals in their defined areas of practice, our competitive advantage in delivering relevant and high quality information on employment, visa, and tax issues.
Employment related laws are covered by Certified Social Insurance and Labor Specialist, nationally licensed professional providing legal and consultation services in the area of employment.
Visa related laws are covered by Gyoseishoshi, nationally licensed professional providing legal and consultation services in the area of immigration.
Tax related laws are covered by Certified Tax Accountant, nationally licensed professional providing accounting, legal, and consultation services in the area of taxation.
Our second competitive advantage is our ability to translate the Japanese legal jargons into simple everyday English.
We continue to maintain and strengthen our competitive advantage.
Financials
Earnings, revenue less expenses, will partly be retained in JPN-Journal.com to fund working capital and to execute expansion plans.
Earnings not retained in the business are invested in publicly traded securities in anticipation of interests, dividends, and capital gains. Investments in securities are subject to liquidation and use for capital infusing on an as-needed basis.
JPN-Journal.com is currenly operated under the form of sole proprietorship. As such, the owner has filed a Certificate of Assumed Name, more commonly known as Doing Business As (DBA), with the County Clerk of New York County.
Federal and New York state tax returns are not required to be filed for sole proprietorships. New York City mandates an Unincorporated Business Tax return to be filed by a sole proprietorship business with total gross receipt of more than $75,000 or taxable income of more than $35,000.
JPN-Journal.com did not meet those revenue or income threshold for the years ended December 31, 2006 and 2007, and therefore, did not file Unincorporated Business Tax returns with the City of New York for the years then ended.
Our financial goal for 2008 is to breakeven. Our financial goal for 2009 is to file the New York City Unincorporated Business Tax. It will probably be the only time in the histroy of our business that a tax return will be filed with so much enthusiasm.
Management Policy
JPN-Journal.com is currently managed by its owner and sole proprietor (name undisclosed to prevent identity theft and other breaches of sensitive and personal information) who is a Certified Social Insurance and Labor Specialist. JPN-Journal.com currently has a business coordination with a Gyoseishoshi and a Certified Tax Accountant.
However, we welcome any competent individual with entrepreneurial spirit holding the above certification to take hands in establishing a partnership.
The business will welcome other limited partners on an as-needed basis.
The fundamental policies of the business, however, will not be altered. JPN-Journal.com will not take on any long-term debt. We will not pursue aggressive expansion beyond our means. Our business is run on invested capital and retained earnings. Although this will likely slow our growth, we believe prudent management should realize and maximize potential revenue while controlling costs. Long-term debt, once taken, often becomes a bad habit of a business and takes years to repay. Once a debt is incurred, there is no assurance that periodic interest and dividend income will more than offset periodic interest expenses for the corresponding period. We have no intentions of jeopardizing our capital and retained earnings to such risk.
